Mark Jenkinson MP has visited Energus to learn more about the learning and skill opportunities that they offer.
Energus has operated as part of the Lillyhall campus for over 10 years.
In recent years Energus has worked hard to bring Cyber Security development to West Cumbria, by being opening the first Cyber Lab. This followed the success of the Cyber Security Level 4 apprenticeship and cyber graduate programmes. These are aimed at developing young talent in an area of critical skills shortage. During their time with us they work alongside industry experts to gain skills and knowledge to protect the regions critical infrastructure against cyber-attacks. We also work with students age 13-17 on CyberFirst – a STEM initiative aimed at encouraging students into Cyber Security.
Adrienne Easterbrook from Energus said: "We were delighted to welcome Mark to Energus today to showcase Energus as a real asset to Allerdale. Mark spoke to some of the Cyber Security Apprentices in the Cyber Lab and asked them about their development journey, they type of work they are doing on the job and what they enjoyed about the apprenticeship. We were keen to show the versatility and capability of the facility and the programmes we offer at Energus and will be looking forward to working closely with Mark in the future."
