We’ve recruited 243 new police for Cumbria. What do you want them to focus on?
When this government was elected, we promised to recruit 20,000 extra police officers for the country.
And thanks to the support of people like you, we’ve now recruited every single one — with an extra 243 new police officers for Cumbria, 192 of which came through the Government's Operation Uplift, that 20,000 promised in the 2019 Conservative manifesto. And we’re working with the police to make sure that every burglary and theft is investigated.
So we’re making progress. But there’s more to do. And it’s important that your next MP is ready to get to work on day one.
As you may know, at the next general election the constituency boundaries are changing. That means you and your neighbours will be in a new constituency.
I'm standing to be your next MP and where I'm not your MP already, I'm campaigning alongside your current Conservative MP on local issues and working hard for our community.
That’s why I’m asking you to share your priorities for our new police officers.
While you should still contact your current MP for official matters, I'm keen to start working with you now on your priorities.
Together, we’ll go through every response with our teams — and we’ll discuss your answers at our next meeting with the Police & Crime Commissioner and the Chief Constable.
It takes just sixty seconds to fill in my survey, so why not take a moment to help cut crime in Cumbria?
