Mark Jenkinson, MP for the Workington constituency, has delivered books to primary schools this week.
Mark has gifted a copy of The Nutcracker to over 6000 primary school children through out his constituency.
In a letter to pupils Mark said ‘2020 has been a challenging year for all of us. The Nutcracker will bring some joy as we bring some joy as we bring a close to the year.
Reading is my escape and I remember my love of reading starting in primary school.’
‘Reading doesn’t just help with education, it can help each of us with our general and mental wellbeing. Books can teach us about parts of the world we’re yet to visit and can improve our creativity, our imagination and our concentration.’
Mark ended his letter by encouraging those who had received the book to write to him to about their favourite book.
