Mark Jenkinson MP for Workington is launching a competition to find the best takeaway within the constituency.
Mark’s constituents have been asked to nominate their favourite takeaway as part of Mark Jenkinson’s Takeaway Takeover for the chance to win a takeaway of their choice up to the value of £20. Voting will close at 2pm on Monday the 12th of April.
Along with an award for the constituency’s favourite takeaway, awards will also be given to a local favourite within Aspatria, Cockermouth, Maryport, Silloth and Workington.
From Monday the 12th of April, we will reach Step 2 of the roadmap out of the current national restrictions. All retail businesses will be able to reopen, along with hairdressers, beauticians and gyms. Hospitality businesses will also be able to serve customers outside.
Mark Jenkinson said: “Takeaways have remained open throughout the pandemic and have provided a great service across my constituency. With many constituents working from home, home schooling or shielding, a weekend treat from a local takeaway has been a great way to safely enjoy ourselves amongst family, household members and support bubbles.
I know many takeaways have also engaged in community work – taking an active role in supporting the most vulnerable as we fight against Coronavirus. I hope constituents engage with the competition to recognise the work they have done.”
